The Jaguar F-Pace SUV (as well as the XF and XE) has been updated ahead of the 2018 model year and three of Jaguar Land Rover’s Ingenium engines have been added.
A new 177kW 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel Ingenium engine has been added to the line-up, that pumps out an impressive 500Nm of torque, mated to an eight-speed auto and with all-wheel-drive. Badged as the F-Pace 25d is capable of 100kph in 7.2 seconds. This powertrain is the first first four-cylinder Jaguar Land Rover engine to use two turbochargers and has been strengthened with updated crankshaft, pistons and improved fuel injectors.
Another new option is an entry-level diesel version that comes with the existing 120kW Ingenium 2.0-litre diesel previously reserved for the XE, with a manual gearbox and rear-wheel-drive. This more fuel efficient engine will be known as the F-Pace E-Performance.
There is also a more powerful 183kW petrol engine on the way. Fitted to the F-Pace it delivers 365Nm torque and takes 6.8 seconds to get from 0-100kph. Then the final option is the existing 133kW diesel F-Pace, which can be ordered with an automatic rear-wheel-drive transmission for the first time.
There are new interior trim options plus additional equipment such as enhanced front seat and Jaguar’s Dual View screen that allows the driver and front passenger to view different things on the 10-inch touchscreen display. Forward Traffic Detection and Forward Vehicle Guidance systems have been added along with more exterior colour options.
The new derivatives will be available to order in South Africa in mid-2017.
